| « Second-floor slab pour | Climbing ever higher... » |
Full steam ahead at Morton
How quickly things change at the Morton site... In just two weeks, the rear wall for the gymnasium has gone up, the slabs for the cafetorium floor and stage have been poured, and plumbing for restrooms and showers has been installed in the specials wing. The loading dock is going in and the kitchen has been marked out. If all goes according to plan, the gymnasium will be under roof by winter.
Exterior walls are also starting to take shape in the academics wing. Blocks are being laid to "floor height." This will allow under-slab utilities, such as electrical conduits and plumbing, to be installed. After that, slabs will be poured for the floors and the rest of the exterior walls will begin to go up.
