Detention pond work continues while site prepped for foundations
Despite the rainy summer, work is moving full steam ahead on the Butler site. The new detention pond in the northwest corner of the site is beginning to take shape. The track hoe in this image is trenching for the tie-in to the city's storm water and sewer system.
The foundations that marked where the demolished sections of the building stood have been filled in and the soil compacted down. Stakes demarcate the locations for the the new courtyards, and crews are making the final preparations before footers and slabs for the new sections of the building are poured.
The stadium work continues ahead of schedule. The drainage system for the field is in place and topped by a layer of compacted concrete. The crews are installing the storm water system between the field and the new detention pond. Turf should be rolled out next week!
